A number of publications in NYSCRA's extensive collection of information produced for our members and the public-at-large speak directly to workforce issues and the profession of direct support. Intended as guides for policy makers; resources for service providers, staff, individuals with disabilities and their families; as well as primers for the general public on workforce issues; these various publications touch on a number of issues, including the role of direct support professionals in a changing service environment; direct support professionals' perspectives on their work; educational and career opportunities; and the need to commit to action to sustain and strengthen this invaluable workforce; to name but a few.
